Supporting men and their families and saving lives.

Welcome to Second Newsletter !

Our newsletter is a new initiative to help us to enhance the services we offer local Prostate Cancer support groups.

Prostate Cancer Support is different - we are not a medical charity but we offer practical help and advice via our website as well as hands-on support, predominantly to support groups in North West England. We also work closely with commercial and public sector organisations to offer training and skills awareness services for employees as part of corporate wellbeing programmes.

We would like to express our gratitude to support groups for all that you do to help and support those affected by Prostate Cancer across the UK. We welcome your feedback and ideas on what PCS does - please let us know what would make a difference for you !

Prostate Cancer Support Profile

Prostate Cancer Support (PCS) is based in Stockport and has provided support for prostate cancer patients and their families for over 25 years, having evolved from Prostate Cancer Support (North West). We are a patient-led charity providing men with sufficient information about prostate cancer to enable them to make an informed decision about PSA testing, the treatments available, their potential impact and the way forward. PCS is run by volunteers, the majority of whom have been affected by prostate cancer in some way.

What we do :
  • Support support groups in North West England
  • Provide a national 0900-2100 365-day Helpline
  • Offer PSA testing in conjunction with the Graham Fulford Charitable Trust
  • Run awareness and skills transfer events directly and with partner organisations
  • Provide information and videos about testing and treatment via our website
  • Signpost prostate cancer support groups via an online directory and map on our website
