PCS is again grateful to Manchester City’s Once a Blue organisation. It’s Taking on Cancer initiative aims to help former Manchester City players by maximising awareness of symptoms and by offering signposting. It posted the following information on Facebook this week, highlighting funds it has raised for PCS.

With this in mind, our organisation is proud to partner with Stockport-based Prostate Cancer Support in order to raise much-needed funds and publicise its aims and objectives.

It’s a subject close to the heart of Once A Blue committee member David White, who earlier this year opened up about his own prostate cancer journey, from initial diagnosis to successful treatment. Earlier this week, David, OAB Chairman Ian Brightwell and OAB committee member Paul Lake met up with Phil Ormesher (Chair of Prostate Cancer Support) and Richard Ridyard (Vice-Chair) at the Village Hotel in Cheadle to present them with a cheque for £600.

Said David: ‘We’re delighted to associate ourselves with such a worthy and hard-working charity, and would like to thank the City fans and supporters’ clubs who have helped fundraise at our Once A Blue events and get-togethers. ‘It’s so important for men of all ages to be aware of the signs and symptoms of prostate cancer, and we’d urge them stay informed by taking a look at the charity’s website.’
